Hidden Vale Adventure Park (HVAP) is quickly becoming one of the hearts of mountain biking in Ipswich. With over 110km of professionally built trail networks and some of the longest descents in all of Southeast Queensland, HVAP is a must ride destination!
Having ridden and raced at HVAP more times I can count, with many successful results, here are my top five trails to tackle at HVAP!
500 Above
Being crowned the longest descent in Southeast QLD, pacing yourself at the beginning of this trail is crucial!
As the title suggests, 500 above is elevation above sea level and trust me when I say the climb up is worth the 15 minutes of descending time. HVAP also provides private shuttles if the climb up is not your forte, allowing everyone to ride the world class trail!
Skyfall
Skyfall is one of my all-time favourite trails, with 2km of flowy jumps, berms and fast straight sections, Skyfall has every ingredient that makes a great trail.
Not to mention the amazing views the whole way down! Featuring 200m of descending this trail is a welcome rest for your legs after the climb up.
Gorgeous
The name of this trail speaks for itself with 1km of spectacular views overlooking the scenic rim.
Gorgeous runs alongside one of the many mountain peaks in the 12,000-acre property and spits you out to one of the best views in the park. With a water tank to refill bottles and have a snack, while taking in the view, this trail is a perfect liaison to 500 above and Skyfall.
Aeroplane
Ahh the famous Aeroplane! This track made it onto the list, because where else do you see an old, crashed aeroplane out on a ride?
Not only a fantastic spot for a photo, but the plane also signifies the start of a 2km fast, rocky and rewarding descent back to the skills park.
Treedom
Treedom features 4km of single track, with the star feature being a tree shaped like an L!
Out of the box thinking turned this tree into a feature worth traveling for. And for this reason, it has made it onto the list. Be sure to stop and admire how nature was thoughtful enough to grow this way just for us mountain bikers…
