Just 45 minutes from Brisbane, at the end of a winding tree-lined road through quite stunning terrain, you’ll find the idyllic property Worlds End Pocket and destination Pocket Retreats.
This is a place to escape to when you want to detach from the city pace, close your laptop and simply reconnect with nature.
The Pine Mountain property is a working cattle farm on the upper reaches of the Brisbane River where you can enjoy a spot of kayaking or fishing just a few paces from your bed for the night. There are two retreats to choose from, the larger boasting an impressive stylish full kitchen and living room opening out to a covered deck and a separate bedroom and bathroom. The other tiny house option is more compact but equally as stylish, with a fire pit outside and a fantastic outlook over the river.
Guests can explore on foot and relax at some spectacular spots on the river banks, with the morning fog lifting at certain times of the year to reveal vegetation on the opposite bank perfectly reflected in the mirror-like surface of the water. This area is also home to quite rare birdlife and birds of prey – nature photographers will be in their element.
