Riverlink is Ipswich’s main shopping centre, hosting major stores Target, Kmart, Woolworths, Coles and Aldi. Others include iPlay, Best and Less, Healthyworld Pharmacy and JB HiFi, while some 160 speciality stores complete the mix.
Located on the banks of the Bremer River, Riverlink is a heritage site and a short walk to the city’s Central Business District across a purpose-built walk bridge.
The centre is also home to Limelight Cinemas, boasting “The Lounge”, which is serviced by catered dining and luxurious seating.
A restaurant precinct overlooks the river reflecting amazing sunsets and becoming a romantic and magical sight at night. It’s the perfect place to dine, particularly with iPlay, the new games arcade which features 8 full-size bowling lanes.
The site was originally Ipswich’s first railway workshop, and even today, beautiful old steam trains are shunted across the river, passing between Riverlink’s two shopping malls. It’s a real treat for shoppers to see these old beauties, and many photos are taken.
With over 2,800 free car parks (most of them undercover), it is a convenient destination and is also serviced by an on-site bus interchange and taxi rank with a short walk to the railway station.
