Flavours of Ipswich is Good to Go!
One of the best-known Indian restaurants in all of Queensland sits at the heart of the heritage city of Ipswich.
Indian Mehfil occupies an old bank building dating back to the late-1800s and has been sending out bright, fresh and tantalising curries for 11 years now. The Sharma family behind this restaurant have hosted prime ministers and sporting royalty over the years, including India’s national cricket team.
Dine inside or at tables in the leafy front courtyard area facing the lawns of d’Arcy Doyle Place and beyond it the historic St Paul’s Church. This is also a pleasant spot for one of venue manager Jasan’s excellent cocktails.
For Flavours of Ipswich, visitors can enjoy a $25 lunch banquet or a $35 dinner banquet. There are vegetarian options and most of the dishes are gluten free.
For lunch enjoy a chef’s selection of appetisers and your choice of curry from the beautifully smoky Butter Chicken to Lamb Rogan Josh and vegetarian Dahl Tadka.
If three are dining, order a different curry each and share! (Or three butter chickens is fine too. Totally understandable – it is an excellent version.)
Dinner includes the appetisers, a couple of different curries to choose from, including the fragrant Fish Methi Malai, and a special Indian dessert.
And… if you love what you try, perhaps get on the wait list for this year’s Diwali festival. The Sharma family has confirmed their vibrant festival of light will return this November after missing a year in 2020!
