Nerima Gardens
Fashion shoot in Japanese gardens
Beautiful Nerima Gardens in the heart of Ipswich proved the perfect location for a local fashion label’s shoot in the lead up to the prestigious Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane.
The Jordan Hewitt label is a family project between Ipswich’s Marlene and Josephine and their families. The models in this shoot are Marlene’s daughter, Jacinda, and Josephine’s grand-daughter, Sarah.
From its Bundamba base, Jordan Hewitt produces evening and formal gowns which are stocked in boutiques across Australia. New season’s designs will be featured in the Next Gen Group Show of the fashion festival at Old Government House on August 29.
Nerima Gardens set in historic Queens Park in Ipswich – the first designated public park in Queensland – were designed in consultation with Ipswich’s sister city in Japan, Nerima. The gardens feature winding stone paths through stands of trees, bridges and an ornamental lake. It’s not uncommon to see turtles, ducks and water dragons basking in the sun on rocks at the water’s edge.
Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane runs August 26-30 and tickets are on sale now.
