Gray’s Bar & Restaurant has emerged as a bold new arrival on the Ipswich dining scene in 2024. The restaurant and event space makes full use of the grand 1916 George Brockwell Gill-designed building and expansive garden-lined grounds. Dine indoors, on the original verandah or out in the garden where the littlies can run on the lawn.
As evening approaches, festoon lights add charm to the outdoor areas – perfect for enjoying a cocktail and tapas on a Friday night. And what wonderful tapas they are, from the hand of a caring chef who enjoys the bounty of fresh herbs and flowers straight from the garden outside. Think sweet potato croquettes with herbaceous green goddess dressing, coconut prawns with ginger plum glaze, mushroom tartlets with goats cheese, pesto and fresh thyme, and tender eye fillet lollipops with fresh chimichurri. The are many gluten-free options on the list.
A large function room is available for hire as well as the courtyard.
Gray’s, at 14 Gray St (previously the site of the Ipswich Club) is currently opening for coffee from 7.30am and serving lunch Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, along with Tapas on Friday afternoon and night, and on Saturday from 12pm till late.
On-site parking is available.
