Great Trails of Ipswich Series 1: Spotlight Bushwalks for Kids 8+ years at Haig Street Quarry
Date: Wednesday 1 October 2025
Time: 5:30pm for a 5.45pm departure, returning at approx. 7:30pm
Cost: $5 per person

Description: Discover the secret life of the forest at night on a spotlight Bushwalk. The forest at night is a mysterious place! Join us as we venture out into the wild after dark to discover the secrets of nature at night. You’ll take home amazing nature stories to tell your family and friends! This easy nature discovery walk is led by our Discover Ipswich guides!
Note: Suitable for children over 8+ years. This walk is expected to take around 1.5 to 2 hours

Great Trails of Ipswich Series 2: Nature Phone Photography Session for Beginners at Kholo Gardens
Date: Friday 3 October 2025
Time: 9:45am for a 10:00am departure, returning at approx. 11.30am
Cost: $5 per person
Location: 243 Riverside Drive, Muirlea QLD 4306
Description: Do you want to learn how to take amazing photo’s on your phone in a relaxed and laid-back atmosphere while enjoying amazing nature?
Guided by a Discover Ipswich guide you will be given tips and tricks on how to take more creative and distinctive images. Learn how to look at your surroundings more consciously with the help of practical, pleasant, photography techniques. Gain insightful hints on lighting, contrast, shapes, colours, angles, depth of field and composition. This activity is suitable for absolute beginners – don’t forget your phone!
Note: Suitable for children over 8+ years through to young adults and older. This walk is expected to take around 1 – 1.5 hours.

*please note – this is a mobile phone workshop session for beginners. Please meet at the carpark at Kholo Gardens.

Risk Waiver and Acknowledgment must be agreed to when booking. A confirmed booking is an agreement that you have acknowledged and agree to the waiver which can be read here

The walk is an unsealed bush track of moderate difficulty and includes rocky, loose and sloping surfaces and is not suitable for prams or wheeled mobility devices

The return walk will be after dark (headlamps provided – or bring your own)

This walk requires a reasonable level of fitness and good balance

Wildlife including snakes may be encountered on this walk, please be careful where you tread and stay on the trail

Bookings essential for all guests. Children must be accompanied by a responsible guardian at all times. Headlamps provided if required. This tour does not cater for infants, children and guests must be able to walk for the duration of the walk unassisted.

Please note that this event may be cancelled in the event of inclement weather. Participants will be advised by 2pm on the day if tour is at night, or 10am if tour is during the day, if cancellation is necessary.
Min 72 hours cancellation required. No refunds will be issued, however, you may nominate another guest to take your spot. Please advise the operator if required.
