Great Trails of Ipswich Series 1: Spotlight Bushwalks for Kids 8+ years
Date: Monday 7 April 2025
Time: 6:15pm to 7:30pm
Cost: $5 per person or $15 per family (2A,2C or 1A3C)
Description: Discover the secret life of the forest at night on a spotlight Bushwalk. The forest at night is a mysterious place! Join us as we venture out into the wild after dark to discover the secrets of nature at night. You’ll take home amazing nature stories to tell your family and friends! This easy nature discovery walk is led by Ranger Jody!
Note: Suitable for children over 8+ years. This walk is expected to take around 1 hour.
Great Trails of Ipswich Series 2: Afternoon Bushwalk Hike for Kids
Date: Friday 11 April 2025
Time: 1:45pm to 4.00pm
Cost: $5 per person or $15 per family (2A,2C or 1A3C)
Description: Grab your walking shoes and take a tour through Ipswich nature estates. Ranger Jody will share the history and her stories, knowledge of flora and fauna and passion for Ipswich’s natural environment. We’ll head off to experience the sights and sounds of the bush to discover the life of the forest. We are going on a nature adventure to learn fun and interesting facts about the animals and plants that live in White Rock Spring Mountain Conservation Estate, as well as ways everyone can help to take care of Nature around us.
Note: Suitable for children over 4+ years. This walk is expected to take around 2 hours.

Time: 2:45pm to 4.00pm
Cost: $5 per person or $15 per family (2A,2C or 1A3C)
Description: Do you want to learn how to take amazing photo’s on your phone in a relaxed and laid-back atmosphere while enjoying amazing nature?
Guided by a Discover Ipswich guide you will be given tips and tricks on how to take more creative and distinctive images. Learn how to look at your surroundings more consciously with the help of practical, pleasant, photography techniques. Gain insightful hints on lighting, contrast, shapes, colours, angles, depth of field and composition. This activity is suitable for absolute beginners – don’t forget your phone!
Note: Suitable for children over 8+ years through to young adults. This walk is expected to take around 1 hour.
